The Lifestyle Solo design is meant to facilitate the development of kayaking skills for young paddlers and smaller adults. It is available in both polyethylene and four composite layups, with or without rudder. The Solo reviewed has an economical hand-laid fiberglass construction. The shallow V bottom offers excellent initial and secondary stability. Novice paddlers will feel stable and can easily learn edged turns. Experienced paddlers will gravitate toward the Solo as a lightweight and capable kayak that provides lots of entertainment in surf. It has a capacity of about 220 pounds, so you can load for a weeklong outing. Its small size makes it handy for rescue lessons in swimming pools. This model was fine-tuned using feedback from our customers. We’ll measure the return on our investment in developing the Lifestyle Solo in changing the lives of the youth of our families and the paddling community. We love watching our grandchildren paddle the Solo after school.
