As per my previous post the kayaks I purchased will be primarily paddled on Georgian Bay. I went on a weeklong trip at Awenda Provincial Park last week and took the kayaks on their maiden voyage. I had a real blast out on the water. I have been camping at this spot for many years and seeing the shoreline from the kayak was totally new and exciting. I also experienced how quickly Georgian Bay conditions can change. On one of our paddles we went out in the morning and by the time we returned the wind had picked up considerably with plenty of whitecaps. The kayaks performed really well but the rough water really exposed my lack of experience. Needless to say that lessons will be in order fairly soon. Nevertheless I am going back this weekend for more paddling.
