Does anybody have night vision, or think that it's important?

Generation 0 - What I know about it is that Generation 0 is AWFUL!. My dad has a cheap Gen0 and it's good for about 3' in front of you. You could get a IR spot light but then you have to hold two things.

Generation 1+ isn't bad but doesn't look as clear and does not do nearly as well in near to total darkness.

Generation 2+ - seems to be the way to go if you can afford it. They have a MCP (microchannel plate) that gen1 doesn't have. Basically the photons (light) come in and are converted to electrons, which in this gen are AMPLIFIED greatly with the MCP and then converted back to photons for the viewer. (I'm simplifying).

Gen 3+ - high grade, no black spots in the image, an more clear.

Gen 4+ - too costly!

Thermal Cameras - too costly!
