Hey woodhead, horses for courses, depends on the wave .I've surfed places with the board that you couldn't with a kayak due to the steepness of the wave face and again I've surfed breaks with a kayak that you could'nt with a board. The kayaks give you the opportunity to surf waves that are marginal board waves so you don't have the crowds and the hassles's and the aggro that is quite common at popular beachs these days. There is still a joy to go for a surf with a few mates and have a lot of fun by yourselfs .We used to call it soul surfing ,it still is in a kayak ,it cleans the soul.Hey board or kayak ,if it feels good ,do it.
