I have little experience with kayaking but what I have done, I enjoyed immensely. My boyfriend and I will be taking a trip in the summer going from where we live in Southern California up to San Francisco and I really want to do some kayaking along the way, if possible, but especially once we get up to San Francisco. I was wondering if anyone has ANY advice about the best places the stop along the coast. Any good places to rent from but mostly any specific places good for kayaking. Anything is appreciated. thank you!

What type of paddling are you interested in and what are you interested in seeing? There are many great spots along the coast to paddle depending upon the ocean and weather conditions. Morro Bay is a great spot as well as Monterey Bay and the Elkhorn Slough. These spots have kayak outfitters who rent kayaks as well as offer guided tours.

Paddling in the San Francisco area is tricky because of the tides and currents. For paddling that area, I would recommend a guided trip. Sea Trek comes to mind as a reputable outfitter.
