Anyone have any thoughts and experiences with dog PFD's?
Looking for one for my mutt and would like some opinions on the best makes.

This could be fun. The PFD would be essential but how does it all work when our dog gets in with us?

NRS Canine Floatation Device works great with my 50lb. aqua hound. Especially the handle on the back to boost her back into the canoe.

I have a Peekaboo 12 lb skinny neck. When I put the dog in the water it starts to swim. She put her feet into the neck of the jacket and then could not swim and rolled. Moral is what ever jacket you get let the dog swim a few minutes at least to make sure it works and does not hinder the dog. She would be better without one than the way it worked. I had to take it to the canvas guy to modify so she was safe. So now I take them a bit offshore and let them swim to shore. The other dogs are 8 lb and 90 lb. Make sure at least on smaller dog the entire bottom of the jacket closes the under belly and closes with velcro and not just one or two straps.
