I have a Navi-light that I use with one side blocked with black tape to keep light out of my eyes. Light has 6 different setting and if a boat gets closer I increase the light it throws out by pushing the top button. Also 4 rechargeable batteries. I have a rear deck light that is suctioned on the deck with a bungee I also have solas tape on the paddle shaft. I put three pieces on each side about 2" long. I have some on the front and rear of the boat on all side on sloped deck about 12-16" long. I carry an ARC strobe for emergencies, regular ACR light, and a headlamp made by http://www.princetontec.com/apex
waterproof but I wouldn't go diving with it. Few settings and I use 4 rechargeable batteries. Very bright light.
Lots of boats and I can get mixed up in the marshes if I paddle up the wrong one. The I have to paddle back out if I cut through. Solas tape on my PDF also is bright. I even put a few stripes on my truck door jambs so if I have the door open at night they will see hopefully.
If they hit me it was on purpose.
