As a follow up question for the Garmin gpsmap 76cx question, does anyone out there use Garmin Lakes maps? I really need a map that show rivers, creeks, and small natural lakes and streams off rivers. I'm really not sure the lakes maps will give me that. I'm in low country South Carolina and there are great little black water areas to paddle near the coast, but you can get a bit lost in them.

I plugged in Garmin US ALL and Canadian West Coast G2 found in handhelds section after choosing model your using and then following Garmin's path. Lake Huron comes thru in detail.

There are seperate Lakes charts each on its own card but I understand this to be motorboat Garmin.

Problem is G2 doesn't cover land so you could use Streets and Trips for land mapping. I have Mapsource with former west coast Blue charts and then Nroute uses satellite GPS for on map road running

My keyboard....AND S&T. With 3 you can drive to the ramp, yak land to camp, and yak back. S&T gets you to A/B/C and D in LA or San Diego, Topo leads thru the outback.

I use a Dell 9400 on the van's doghouse for en route GPS. Passing/stoplight folk call the HP to alert for an out of state nut watching TV n driving.

I live in Canada and use Garmin Topo Canada maps. I bought the maps for about $100. They come on a DVD. I uploaded mine onto my computer then I transfer whatever area I want onto a micro SD card that goes in my Garmin handheld GPS. You can fit a lot of info onto a micro SD card. I currently have all of Ontario on the card.
The Topo maps work great for me.
Good luck.
