Nice article, thank you for posting the link. After doing the Missouri Breaks a couple of years ago we were just trying to decide where our next flat-water river trip would be. This looks like a good possibility.

thank you mike. i did the missouri breaks years ago in a canoe.....might be time to go up there with the kayak and revisit. we had lots of rattle snakes on that trip. i think you'd really enjoy the green river....put in at green river, ut., which is a really nice warmup, depending on the time you have.

Our trip through the Breaks only yielded one rattlesnake. I didn't believe in disapperating (I think that's what they called it in the Harry Potter books) till we came across our one rattler. My sister-in-law was standing right beside me till we heard the rattle, somehow she instantly appeared behind my wife, putting one more person between herself and the snake. Never saw her make a move.
