A couple of friends and fellow message board poster paddling one of our favorite local (Seattle) storm paddle spots, a concave reflecting sea wall. Wind was 25-35kts, Air temp 45F, water a couple of degrees warmer. Definitely a spot for plastic boats. Alki Pt play session

It was kind of windy down this way too, yesterday. I took the occasion to do some windy maneuvering and purposely paddling into the strong gusty wind at an angle. The waves weren't as big as they might have been; they were being blown somewhat flat. I was elated at how my boat handled the whole thing. This was far from the first time in these conditions, but it was a little unique in that the wind most often is either ahead, behind, or abeam. This time it was quite strong and at an angle off the bow for the direction I was heading. Add a strong current to the thing and it made for a nice workout without ever venturing more than a couple of miles from the launch site.

Today looks like another glorious day. Where to go, which boat to take, which paddle--so many decisions. Okay, I know how that sounds, but I'm in a good mood and so happy to have to make the hard choices.
