I am looking for another Kayak to paddle on the Great Lakes. Has anyone had experience with Tahe Marine? They make beautiful kayaks out of Estonia. I especially like the models they make that have both skegs and rudder options so I could tailor the boat to where I want to use it. Also has anyone has positive experience with Kayak Pro? I have read good and bad reviews on the Nemo. Basically I am looking for a lightweight seakayak with good load capacity and sturdy build.

They will be at the show I am going to Sat. I can look at the build qualities if you like. With a grain of salt I have heard varying quality and service on kayak Pro. If you do a search here I think it will pop up.

I saw the Tahe and the workmanship looked good. I was really impressed with the P&H line. P&H and Tahe are a bit rougher on the interior construction like bulkheads than Current Design composites. I mean it really doesn't mean anything if a bulkhead isn't perfectly finished but it was what I saw. They all seemed to be outfitted good on the outside decking and the seats. I am not an expert just my observations. If I wasn't buying a Current Design my next pick would be P&H looking at finish. I heard the salesman for Tahe say there were not many in the country and he had XXX of them.

Show was decent I bought some dog life jackets. Should have bought some Native sun glasses but I balked. Went out next day and my glasses all fogged up because they were to close to my head with no venting. Native were nice with no slip nose piece.

I didn't see kayakPro. I did see Epic and it was nice but I am not big on Chinese products.

Dogpaddle, are you saying that you are thinking of buying another Current Designs boat? If so, which one?

If I like my Nomad / Extreme boat after I redo it I won't be buying another CD. If it is to tight I may sell it and get a Nomad HV with another 3/4" in deck height.

I need a boat for the Mrs. which may be a CD Solstice if she like mine when she tries it.

Next boat I want is a surfski maybe of which a couple are made here in the USA. Before I get to that I need to feel real comfortable in my CD Extreme which is good bit more tippy than my Solstice but it should be faster 3"+ narrower and 2'+ longer. :>)

Hulki may be my surfski but they have no dealers on East Coast or may be anywhere. I find it hard to send money to get a boat and never have tried it.

She is afraid of a long boat. We rented a Solstice and Solstice GTS one day. When we went out there were 20-25 knot winds. She couldn't turn to easy in the wind. It was not easy for me either but I learned to lean, and turn the easier way with the wind. Rudder boat I guess is a plus too in heavy wind. She tried a CD Vision but there are from China. Something 16' would be good for her but not much in that area of sea kayaks.

If I gave her my Solstice I know where their is a 08 HV Solstice for 2300 left over unused. Might be more roomy for me but then it is a wind catcher too being higher.

My Kokatat drysuit has worked out very well! The neo gloves I have not so well as they start to tear fast at the thumb. I'll tape them at the thumb.

I bought a Tahe Bayspirit last September. I am very satisfied. It is my first Sea kayak.

They are popular in Denmark (where I live).

Riverside Kayak Connection outside of Detroit sells them. Give 'em a call and schedule a demo. And while you're there, hop over to the Al Ameer restaurant for some great chow.

Hey, we live in the same neck of the swamp...
