This Friday I am putting half down on a Nordkapp RM. This 2011 model is on sale for $1579.00 Canadian. I was wondering if that is a good price? I can also get a Werner Kalliste or Ikelos paddle for $365.00 Canadian. These prices seem great to me after searching the net. I am in Ontario and the store is in Toronto.
The thing I appreciate the most is that the store is only charging me half but with the flexibility to switch to a different kayak if I am not satisfied after test paddling it (I have to put money down now to take advantage of the sale). Once I decide which kayak I want then I pay the remaining half. I also have 4 months to make up my mind. The store is even gonna loan me one of their drysuits so I can test the Nordkapp along with my Tempest 170. I don't plan on testing it till sometime this March. Lake Ontario is very cold with a 0 to 1 degree Celcius temp.
Just wondering what others think about this price, especially for the cost in Canada.

Not sure what they cost in Canada I would just shop it around. If it is composite I would guess it is good price.

Actually, Dog, that would be a spectacular price if the boat in question were a composite Nordkapp. RM means rotomolded (polyethylene).

yea I would be driving to Canada. I forgot it said roto in the title. I mean here in the USA I would guess most roto boats are 1400-1900. Not sure what they are in Canada but if 1579 in Canada is half price they are real expensive!
