Haley Shephard takes us with her in her attempt to circumnavigate South Georgia Island which stands alone in the middle of the sub-Antarctic South Atlantic Ocean. We'd like to hear your comments about her journey

I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Haley's trip because 1) it was a bold proposal to circumnavigate this challenging island, 2) she was prudent about decisions to go ashore and wait out bad weather, and 3) she is a naturalist who relates to the biology and beauty of wherever she is, on land or at sea. Although she was naturally disappointed not to complete her planned circumnavigation, she can feel good that she nonetheless had an inspiring trip. Her trip ended simply because she ran out of time due to bad luck with the weather, not because of a disaster stemming from bad judgment or poor skill. By choosing to paddle conservatively in a harsh environment, she survived to try again sometime when she'll have better luck with the weather. I look forward to more of her adventures.
