Hi paddlers,

Have you heard that polish kayaker is just now paddling across Atlantic Ocean? It sound like crazy, but its true. His name is Aleksander Doba, and after first week he paddled already 500km.

I've decided to run blog about this amazing challenge (official webpage is only in polish:)
http://transatlantic2010.blogspot.com/

In my opinion this challenge is comparable with the most famous open water crossings. It will the fourth Altantic crossings and the first one which directly connect one continent with the another.

Do you think that it deserve international attention?

regrds.

Big Feat what were the other crossings? What type of boat is he in? I tried to subscribe to post but failed. May be we can ask questions. Who is going say / monitor this so it is authentic? Hate to see him make it and not get proper credits due him.

Hi DogPaddle52,

Since today Atlantic has been crossed three time by kayakers:
* 1928, Franz Romer
* 1956, Hannes Lindemann
* 2001, Peter Bray
For more details take a look on:
http://www.expeditionkayak.com/content/?page_id=57

He is paddling in specially designed ocean kayak. Concept a little bit similar to Peters Bray boat. On my page you will find technical details and picture. For more pictures visit polish official site:

Go ahead, if you have any questions. I'll do my best to answer.

Everyone can monitor progress of the expedition. GPS location automatically published by SPOT company. Take look on: http://share.findmespot.com/shared/faces/viewspots.jsp?&glId=0TxpSbox6tZUNkWFMZ02HUIAMMXWa9ZPJ

cheers,
