I rented one today for near 1 hour I ever got comfortable in it at all. I was exhausted after 45 minutes with my legs/hips snapping because I felt it was unstable. I guess I will get a Solstice HV when I buy my boat. I rented that a few times and I feel at ease in it. Few others to rent and try before purchase time in the spring at the latest. More time in the Solstice prepare me for something narrower?

Hopefully I can make the rescue/safety class next week.

thanks

I've paddled the Nomad and thought it was relatively stable. I guess it has a lot to do with what you're used to. I think until you put in quite a bit of time in narrow boats, they all feel a bit tippy at first. I will admit that there are some boats that have a pretty soft primary and the transition to secondary is very quick. The trick is to find a boat that suits your idea of stability and also handles well and has a nice turn of speed.

Dog, I applaud you for keeping an open mind and trying as many boats as is practical. I only wish that you were able to try out an NC.

yes I would like to try NC also. Worries me if I have a problem with it no dealer and the other side of the country.. Biggest thing is not being able to try it. Eddyline will be next but I do favor glass boats. I feel confident in the Solstice HV. Hope I can sign a few or one new contracts this week (dream on John). I have a few irons on the fire however dim. I'll order a boat soon. Tax and options is near 4 grand. Need a suit soon as the water has dropped to 66* I would guess 60* is the limit for close shore paddling from what I read.

They drag the boats at the rental place and drag them on the gravely soil. I would cry if it was my boat. If I buy a boat from them I can take a rental till mine comes in.

Yesterday when I had the shakes I felt like dumping it over and getting over it.LOL

My most important thing is m safety rescue lesson next Sunday.
