I just got back from a trip to the Outer Banks, went sea kayaking every single day we were there. The barrier island setting gave us numerous environments to visit. We rode the sound one day, took inlets all day the next and then hit the open sea. It was a little choppy but found ourselves riding along with a huge pod of dolphins one evening around sunset. We stayed at a rental house through Sun Realty, who gave us so many ideas on where to go. They even told us about some secret spots. I suggest this area to any sea kayak adventurers.
