We are planning to paddle a little on the north shore of Lake Huron this summer. Massassauga Park is one destination, do you suggest any others? Thanks for publishing the pictures and your reply about Tadoussac. Skiyakker

The best place to paddle on the North Shore in a kayak is Tonti Island, a small island in the French Islands just east of Thessalon, Ontario. The west side has four small beaches that are just amazing. I have paddled every island and inlet on the entire North Shore. Tonti Island is the place to be!!!!!

Here are a few Pics and Video's. Did 80km's in four days. Poured on us all day on Day 1. Clear after that....fantastik trip, especially going around the north side of Wreck Island.

I kayaked the Massassauga twice in 2010. I soloed 3 days at the end of August and took my girlfriend in early October. I have only camped on site 202. I recognized the view from Tenbears picture right away. Great site on 3 finger bay. I was disappointed a bit because of the amount of cottages at first but it got better as I headed north. October is a great time to go ( if the weather is good ) as the cottagers aren't there. The weather was perfect in October. I wore swim trunks and a PFD most the time. I even managed a very brisk swim at site 202. The water was too cold to enjoy it though.
One night at the end of August I kayaked out into Three Finger bay under a full moon. The water was like glass and the moon lit up the shore all around. I floated in the bay for 45 minutes and listened to the loons. It was absolutely beautiful.
