Has anybody done the trip on the Green river from Green River, Utah to the confluence of the Green and Colorado rivers? I'm looking into a fall 2009 trip and would appreciate any first hand info or good links to info about this trip. As I understand it the trip is 120 miles (10 days) of quick water through Canyonlands National Park ending with a JetBoat shuttle up the Colorado River to Moab.
Thanks

My wife and I took half of this trip a few years ago. A couple of suggestions. We had a canoe in the group so could easily carry the required potty and an ice chest for the few parishables we took along. Stash some water at the midway takout if you plan to go all the way to the Colorado. Be prepared for lots of mud as you enter and exit the river for camping. This was the dirtiest trip I have ever been on (loved it). If you plan to go in the Fall, prepare for both cold and hot. We roasted on most of the trip, but on the last day there was frost in the morning, the last thing I expected. This is one of the most impressive trips we have taken and hope to get to do it again. So much water and so little time.

I did this trip about 15 years ago with a son. 9 days of welcome flat water. 17' Canoe. 19 gallons of water. 2 coolers, if I remember right. Awesome / different scenery. Spring break, high winds in late morning - early afternoons means early starts. Sand bars make navigation interesting and constant. Check water levels. Check special regulations... The upper first half seemed more pretty. You may see other people but not many. Jet boat ride back can be a cold one; dress for it. You will not forget this trip.

The guide I used was,

Belknap's Revised Waterproof

Canyonlands River Guide.

The section to use is:

River Map - Labyrinth & Stillwater Canyons.

This guide is a nice mile by mile countdown...
