Hello everyone, new guy here. Been lurking for a few weeks and gathering as much info as possible.

Currently my wife and I paddle 10 foot recreational kayaks but I am seeking a new sea kayak in the very near future.

I was able to demo a few plastic boats in the 14 foot range (Wildereness Tsunami 140,Perception Carolina 14 and Necky Manitou 14. What a difference compared to 10'x28" ! But..... I really want a 17 foot boat.

I'm looking for a reasonably priced ($1200-$1500) one and want something that tracks very well, decent stability & good speed. I'm more interested in great tracking over highly maneuverable.

I keep coming back to the Venture Kayaks Easky 17 Easky 17

Does anyone have experience with this model ?

I have not had a Venture Esky 17, But I do have a VEnture Skye. I think that is one of the finest boats I have been in. It is very stable, tracks really well and is very comfortable. The Gf has a Sirocco by Current Designs, and she loves it, but I like the Skye better. I guess the purpose of this message is not to brag about my Skye, but to suggest that the likelyhood of the ESky being good is high since it is the same manufacturer.

When it comes to the Venture 17 you can't get a better kayak for the price. In some cases you don't get a better kayak for a much higher price.
