I wonder if anyone has some knowledge about fishing the rock gardens of the Oregon and Washington coast? Stuff like what you fish with, best times of the year even places to go. I have`nt seen any threads about fishing so far so I thought I`d throw one out there \:\) Have a safe and happy independance day!

I grew up along the northern Calif- southern Oregon coast and we would fish for red/black snapper, Lingcod and capizon (sp). We would use a yarn jig that we made, They can be bought but we would get hung up enough that it was cheaper to make them. Lingcod are big enough to turn you over. the snappers usually only put up a fight about half way up then they will float up on ther own , as there stomach turn inside out from the change in pressure.
