What’s New - 2007 Product Preview

One of the perks of working at Sea Kayaker is that we get a first look at a lot of interesting kayaking and camping gear that’s just making its way to the marketplace. Manufacturers and PR firms shower us with press releases throughout the year, and every August, we attend the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market, the debutante ball of outdoor-recreation products. The array of gear we see every year is staggering in its scope, but there are usually several products that stand out as being particularly well executed or significantly improved versions of standard equipment. Every so often, there are even some entirely new concepts.
People often ask us what we like that’s new on the market, so we gathered up a collection of things that have piqued our interest recently. After running everything through its paces, a few items didn’t live up to their promise, a few more just needed to go back for a bit more R&D, and those we’ve included here looked like they could be useful additions to your kayaking kit. —The Editors
