What Do You Carry on Your PFD?
by Christopher Cunningham
In
my editorial for our April 2007 issue I provided a list of the gear that
I keep with me in my PFD. We asked a few of our adventuresome contributors
what they carried on their PFDs and the answers offered a wide range of
gear. Surprisingly some of the kayakers paddling in the most challenging
regions carried the least gear. Click

Other News
Andrew McAuley
by Christopher Cunningham
With scarcely more than a day’s paddling left in his 1000-mile solo crossing from Tasmania to New Zealand, Andrew McAuley was lost at sea.
Andrew,
39, had previously logged a 330-mile crossing of Australia’s Gulf of Carpenteria
and several solo crossings of Bass Strait between Australia and Tasmania.
Last year he lead a 625-mile kayaking expedition along the west coast of
the Antarctic Peninsula. He also had a number of remarkable achievements
as a mountaineer. Click

This is a very exciting time for the Advertising Department.
Advertising and Marketing trends have shown us that our industry has been changing over the past several years and in the last 2 years these changes have been dramatic. Consumers are constantly searching all forms of media for products and information; to keep pace with the broader array of media, magazines have to go far beyond the printing business to engage our readership and provide them with an interactive venue and with the immediacy that they have come to expect.
